Hi Steiner
A little late getting back to you - apologies. The boots are repro German WW2 ankles from Richard Underwood - not cheap but they are well worth it. Very well made. They start off as rough out - I've thrown some WW2 German dubbing and several coats of brown shoe polish on mine now so they're beginning to look a bit better -
Cheers Richard - yes, I thought they looked like Underwood's - not cheap! I'll be sticking to my Brit army boots unfortunately - not very authentic looking, but very comfortable and sturdy. I skirmished in my jackboots last Saturday, but the leather soles just don't have any shock absorbancy (even with full length insoles inside) and absolutely no ankle support either, so they are totally impactical really.

In typical "me" fashion, I bid on 2 Jerry water botltles on ebay, bidding pretty low in my opinion. I won them bloody both! Oh well, at least I won't run out of water at CR!

Where from?
Also... are you doing a Brit or american impression?
Its its Brit then you need an Enfield Sling for your thompson, not a yank one. Also the lanyard is probably not right, you need just a normal British revolver lanyard (and ideally a special clip, but a keyring will do for airsofting)
apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs...
Hi everyone
Just thought I'd share with you my recently acquired M43, badged up for GD by my good lady wife -
Looking forward to sporting it next weekend -
Very nice, Richard - I notice the yellow piping for reconnaissance unit.
BTW - general question - did EM use belt hooks?

It's a Willys MB from 1943, rebuilt at the Maltournee plant after the war in France. Complete restore in 2003.

I'll still need to switch some parts over though:
Tires (these are hotchkiss rims, I've got 4 war-time split rims ready to go)
Hip Crash Pads
Headlight buckets.
Windshield wipers ( I don't like these Vacuum operated ones )
Perhaps also change out the fuel-guage and speedo.
Ah well, working on it is half the fun of owning a jeep

Yes, very much so. Thats why EM tunics have the holes. They really do help to keep your kit in the right spot. Not only vertically but they help to stop stuff sliding about on the belt.

Hi Steiner
Poacher got to you before I did - hence the name maybe - but I'd just like to echo what he says - EM definitely wore belt hooks, even with y-straps you need them to keep your belt order in roughly the right place - it's a heck of a weight when it's all loaded on -
Indeed it is - thanks for the tip, guys. What's a good source please?
